Car Buyer USA - Latest Manufacturer Recalls

We have not covered the latest automobile recalls in a few months. Since the beginning of 2025, automakers have issued multiple recalls affecting a wide range of vehicles due to safety concerns. These recalls highlight potential hazards such as fire risks, malfunctioning safety systems, and mechanical failures that could put drivers and passengers at risk. Below is a summary of the most notable recalls so far this year.

Volkswagen has recalled nearly 177,000 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport SUVs from the 2024-2025 model years. The issue stems from an improperly installed engine cover that could loosen over time. If the cover shifts, it may come into contact with hot engine components, increasing the risk of fire. To resolve this, Volkswagen dealerships will inspect and remove the engine covers if necessary.

Hyundai has also issued a recall for thousands of vehicles due to a brake fluid leak that could lead to engine fires. The issue is severe enough that drivers are advised to park their cars outdoors and away from structures or flammable materials. Hyundai has urged affected owners to seek repairs, particularly if they notice an illuminated warning light on the dashboard.

Tesla has faced a recall of nearly 700,000 vehicles due to a malfunctioning tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The warning light on affected cars may fail to stay illuminated after a drive cycle, potentially allowing drivers to operate their vehicles with underinflated tires, increasing the risk of an accident. Tesla has addressed this issue through an over-the-air software update.

Ford has recalled approximately 240,000 Explorer and Lincoln Aviator SUVs from the 2020-2021 model years due to seat belt anchor issues. The seat belts in these vehicles may not be properly secured, which could reduce their effectiveness in the event of a crash. Ford dealerships will inspect and replace the faulty components free of charge, with notifications sent to owners beginning in late March.

Volkswagen has issued another recall, this time affecting over 60,000 electric vehicles, including the Audi Q4 e-tron and Volkswagen ID.4. A software glitch in these cars prevents the correct display of gear positions, potentially leading to rollaway incidents if the parking brake is not engaged. Additionally, Volkswagen has recalled another 30,000 vehicles due to problems with rearview camera displays.

Stellantis has recalled more than 27,000 Maserati models in the U.S. due to a defect in the rearview camera system. A software issue prevents the backup camera image from displaying properly, increasing the risk of collisions while reversing. The recall affects several models, including the Grecale, MC20 Cielo, GranTurismo, and GranCabrio.

Kia has recalled over 80,000 vehicles, including various Niro EV, Plug-in Hybrid, and Hybrid models from 2023 to 2025. The recall is due to wiring damage caused by repeated passenger seat adjustments, which can interfere with airbag deployment. To correct this, dealers will inspect, replace, and reroute the affected wiring as needed.

Land Rover and Jaguar have also announced recalls related to rearview camera malfunctions. More than 28,000 Land Rover models, including the Discovery Sport, Defender, and Range Rover Evoque, are affected by touchscreen failures that prevent the rearview camera from functioning. Jaguar has also expanded its recall to include over 5,000 XE models from 2019-2020 due to faulty wiring that disrupts rearview camera displays.

Daimler Vans has recalled hundreds of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter models from 2019 to 2022. The issue stems from a malfunction in the instrument cluster, which may prevent the brightness level from being adjusted. In some cases, the display could be too bright, creating a distraction for drivers. Dealers will update the software to resolve the problem.

Ford has issued another recall, this time involving nearly 12,000 F-150 Lightning models from 2023-2024. A suspension defect related to improperly tightened ball joint nuts in the front upper control arms may cause a loss of steering control. Owners are urged to visit a dealership to have the components inspected and properly secured.

Citroën has also recalled nearly 900,000 vehicles across Europe due to defective Takata airbags. The affected models include Citroën C3 and DS3 vehicles manufactured between 2009 and 2019. The faulty airbags pose a risk of improper deployment, potentially leading to serious injuries in the event of a crash.

We covered why safety recalls are crucial back in September. These recalls highlight the importance of regular vehicle maintenance and manufacturer oversight in ensuring road safety. Owners of affected models should check with dealerships or official recall notices to determine if their vehicle requires repairs. Addressing these issues promptly can help prevent accidents and ensure vehicles remain safe for operation. Keep informed and CHECK FOR RECALLS on your vehicle FREE click here
